Welcome to the Wilmington Ski Club website.
Yes…... We do love to ski and snowboard.
Why? We love the smell of clean, fresh mountain air. We love the beauty of the snow and trees. We love the thrill of challenging our bodies and minds as we improve our skills. We love the friends that we meet through skiing. What could be better than that? If this sounds appealing to you, please join us!

Presidents message Aug 2010 Hi Everyone, Well, we had the necessary precipitation lately but the temperature was still a little too high to give us a decent snowfall. Since we do not yet have any snow, you can still avail yourselves of a fun day on the bay in a Hobie Cat. Remember, Hobie Days are July 24 and August 28. The details are in the Scrapings. The weather also cooperated and it was actually very nice out by the time we had our July meeting. The winners of the BYOB Wine Tasting Contest are announced inside. I would like to extend a “Thank you” to all of the individuals that participated. It appeared that a good time was had by all. The 2010 Ski Trips were also unveiled at this meeting along with most of the particulars. The actual prices are still being determined, this is due to the fact that your trip leaders are still negotiating the best price. The dates and destinations for the trips and the details that have been set in stone are available inside. Also, do not forget about this year’s sign-up promotion. You will be able to skip the lines and be assured of having a place on any of this year’s ski trips. Remember, the next meeting will also be held at Gore. By then the trips should have been finalized and you can begin to solidify your plans for this winter’s skiing. In August, we will also have our annual Appreciation Dinner which will again be held at Deerfield on August 20. Guests (non-volunteers) may attend but they have to pay their own way. If you are interested, contact Barbara Dunn 302-654-7075. The regular club happy hour will also be there that night, so come on out and party! In closing, I would like to again thank the individuals who served on both the council and the rest of the volunteers that made last year possible. You should have gotten an e-mail regarding the Appreciation Dinner. If not, please let me know. I would also like to thank the individuals who have volunteered their time for this coming year. Again, without them this club would not be possible.
Until next month, Bob Viskup |
