Responsibilities of Treasurer
The Treasurer of the Wilmington Ski Club is responsible for maintaining the Ski Club Treasury as specified in the policy “Club Treasury and Financial Management.”
Duties
Annually:
Votes, with other Officers, to appoint Council Members as provided for in Article III Section 2 of the Wilmington Ski Club Bylaws.
Develops a budget for the next fiscal year with the President.
Works with the President to establish annual club goals.
Provides annual training on Trip/Activity financial reporting to potential Trip/Activity leaders. Such training will be conducted at the same session as other Trip/Activity leader training arranged by the Winter Trips Chairperson and the Activities Chairperson.
Audits Trip / Activity financial reports as specified in the “Club Treasury and Financial Management” policy
Prepares timely tax reporting for review by the Council Officers and, if applicable, designated accounting or tax professional. Such tax reporting includes: federal form 990 and 990T (due 11/15), federal and state form 1099 NECs and 1095, federal and state form 990 and appropriate accompanying schedules, state of Delaware tax franchise report (due 3/1).
Monthly:
Reports financial status to the Council using the format specified in the policy “Club Treasury and Financial Management.”
Chairs Council meetings in the absence of both the President and Vice-President.
On-going
Makes deposits to and writes checks from the General Funds and the Trips/Activity Fund as specified in the policy “Club Treasury and Financial Management.”
Transfers Ski Club monies between accounts as specified in the “Club Treasury and Financial Management” policy.
Is accessible to the general membership, where possible, and provides answers or resolution to issues involving established Ski Club Policies or Guidelines or issues not covered by the same.
Develops new leadership capability within the Ski club to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of Ski Club leadership including Council.
