AVOIDING CHAOS ON TRIP SIGN-UP NIGHT |

Please consider renewing your membership before August. It is much easier for you, the membership committee, and the trip leaders if you renew your membership before the trip sign-up night. But if you haven’t, you may do so in the front lobby starting at 6:30PM, on signup night. The front lobby will be open by 6:30PM, and the membership table will open for business at 6:30PM. The doors to the main meeting room will open at 7:00PM, at which time you may pick up a numbered ticket (or tickets) for the trip (or trips) that you are signing up for. If you are also signing up another member, you will receive a ticket for that person as well. Remember that you may only sign up yourself plus one other member on the initial sign-up night. Or if you have a family membership, you may sign up yourself plus any of your family member(s), OR one other non-family member. (After the close of the initial sign-up night, members may sign up themselves plus any number of other members if they want). Remember that our bylaws indicate that members under 21 years old must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian on WSC trips, and the parent or legal guardian signs the trip waiver form for minors under 18. The bar will open at 7:00PM, and the main meeting room will be open for socializing at that time. The trips will have tables set up in the main meeting room, and you may pick up a sign-up form to fill out at that time if you want. Trip sign-ups will start at 7:30PM (as per our club’s regulations). After 7:30PM, give your ticket and your deposit check (made out to WSC) to the trip leader, who will sign you up for the spot corresponding to the number on your ticket. If you are signing up for more than one trip, or if you go back out to the lobby to renew your membership, your numbered spot will be held for you until you get to the trip table. (There is no reason to storm your trip’s table!) We hope this procedure will make sign-up night more relaxed and fun for everyone involved! |
