EUROPE 2009: Ski the Julian Alps in Slovenia January 17-28, 2009 Limit 30 people Ski in Italy, Austria and Slovenia Cost per person $2,250.00 for 24 people with up to $150.00 reduction if we get 30 people signed up.
SLOVENIA, part of the old Yugoslavia, is a wonderful new location to explore. Join us for a ski adventure in the Julian Alps. We will be staying in Bled, a beautiful lakeside village, close to Kranjska Gora, Bohinj and Bovec for skiing and touring and Vogel and Krvavec for skiing. Bled with its picturesque island in the middle of the lake, overlooking castle and hot springs has attracted visitors for centuries. We will be staying in the 4-star Park Hotel, Bled in the city center close to the shore of Lake Bled. It boasts a wonderful view of the lake, the castle and the Julian Alps. The hotel's wellness area is comprised of a large indoor pool with heated thermal water, a whirlpool, saunas, a solarium, a gymnasium and a massage parlor. The nearby Živa Wellness Centre offers a thermal swimming pool complex and an extensive sauna area.
We will have our own private ski bus to take us 4 out of 5 days to a different ski area including a day skiing in Italy at Monte Lussari (Visarje) and a day in Austria at Arnoldstein as well as Bohinj Lake/ Vogel and Krvavec ski areas in Slovenia. There will be one free day to sightsee or ski as you please via the town bus as well as trips to the capital, Ljubljana or a trip to see caves and castles as possible options. Included in the costs are breakfasts daily, six out of seven nights of dinners, five at our hotel and a farewell dinner in Castle Bled. We will have one night free to explore local restaurants on our own.
Our extension city this year is the magical city of Venice. We will be staying three nights in the Best Western Hotel Bologna located close to the train station which takes us into the old section of the city.
