Friday, June 10, 2016 - 4:00 pm
This is the best food around and it is only available one week. On June 10th starting at 4:00 PM let’s meet and let the parishioners of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church take us on a trip to the Old Country where we can close our eyes and imagine ourselves in a Greek village where locals are celebrating an annual event. Let’s experience the aromas of authentic food cooking before our eyes, the sounds of ethnic music and the sights the Greek Terpsechorian Youth Folk dance group. There will be plenty of “Kefi”, presence of joy and high spirits for us enjoy while attending the annual Greek Festival. Admission is Free and is a rain or shine event. Homemade traditional comfort food like Pastitsio (Greek Lasagna), Moussaka (Eggplant, Potato and Seasoned Beef Casserole), Dolmades (Stuffed Grape Leaves) and Spanakopita (Spinach Pie) are served in the Hellenic Community Center. Items such as Gyro, Souvlaki, and Calamari are prepared outside where we can grab a table and enjoy our meal while listening to Philadelphia’s Atlantis, a regionally renowned orchestra, playing live Greek music nightly. And let’s not forget baklava and the other delicious desserts.
